Often it feels as though we stand in one place and the world simply moves around us. We craft new lives based on our different environments and unlock versions of ourselves we never knew existed. We watch as the people we used to be are buried and reborn with different haircuts, tattoos, and lovers, and through it all we are caught in the constant search for something called a Home.
Transit is a collection of poems born out of displacement: mental and physical, intentional and accidental. They are the thoughts that haunt you as your stare out an airplane window, the dream that comes to you as you sleep against the train car wall. These poems are what you wish you had said as you face your reflection as the sun slowly rises, and they are unapologetically hopeful that one day, somehow Home can be found or made.
